"I'm actually an employee of SOME. I also live in one of their transitional family housing [programs, Thea Bowman House].
You go there and you stay, it's a 2-year program, and they teach you about managing your credit. They also teach you about setting goals for myself, so basically everything to set yourself out on your own.
Well, I believe that when I was in school, I was really determined to make a better life for me and my daughter, so I was just basically focused, I was strong willed, and I guess it shone through without me even knowing. But mentally I was just prepared to do what I needed to do to get me and my daughter on the right path, to just being good and successful in life."
