This short video features three District residents who received temporary cash assistance through
Interim Disability Assistance, a program for individuals with disabilities. The IDA budget has been cut
dramatically over the past several years, and further cuts are likely to reduce the number of DC
residents with disabilities getting help.
Our comprehensive approach to addressing homelessness and poverty includes more than the direct services we provide to the men and women who come to us for help. We:
We partner with many other organizations to develop and advocate for the best feasible solutions. We also empower our clients to speak out for their interests. We enlist concerned citizens to voice their support through our grassroots So Others Might Eat Advocacy Network.
We invite you to visit the issue pages and SOME's Advocacy Resource Library in this section to learn more about what we are advocating and why.
We are eager to answer your questions and to partner with you. We also welcome suggestions for strengthening our efforts. You can reach us at firstname.lastname@example.org or 202.797.8806 ext. 2112.
