Enjoy a Guided Tour of DC to Benefit SOME
Sunday, October 5, 2014, Walk of the Town is offering a guided tour entitled “Monumental sTOURies” to benefit SOME. Led by licensed DC tour guide Tim Stewart, the tour will feature stops at the Lincoln Memorial, the Washington Monument, the World War II Memorial, the Korean War Veterans Memorial, the Vietnam Veterans Memorial, Constitution Gardens, Signer’s Island and more.
Reservations are not required. The tour itself is free, but donations are welcome – 100% of donations will go to SOME. The tour begins on 15th Street, NW, just steps from the northwest corner of the Commerce Department at the intersection of 15th Street (300 block) and Pennsylvania Avenue.
Red Bull Global Rallycross Race
Volkswagen Rallycross DC has partnered with SOME to host a special food drive at the Red Bull Global Rallycross race to be held at RFK Stadium June 21-22. Event-goers are invited to bring non-perishable food items or toiletries to donate in SOME barrels stationed at entrances to the RFK Festival Grounds. The new collaboration represents Volkswagen Rallycross DC’s commitment to being a strong and responsible partner to the local D.C. community.
