The Trot for Hunger is volunteer-powered right down to its mascot, the SOME Turkey.
|
The Thanksgiving Day Trot for Hunger could not be a success without the help of more than 150 volunteers. If you would like to volunteer, please e-mail Tracy Monson at trotforhunger@some.org with your name, email address, daytime phone number, and when you would like to help.
Race Day - November 26
Volunteers are needed in two shifts for all aspects of the race.
First shift - 5:30am - 9:00am
Volunteers will assist with all aspects of the race, including participant check-in, course set-up and monitoring and food distribution. We are also in need of First Aid, CPR and AED certified volunteers to staff the first aid tents.
Second shift - 9:00am - 12:00pm, or when clean-up is complete. November 27
Volunteers are also needed on Friday, November 27, from 7:00am - 12:00pm to help unload and sort surplus race materials. Can't make it on Thanksgiving? Join us on the 27th!
Trot Street Team
Volunteers will help SOME publicize the trot by distributing posters and brochures to various venues in the DC Metro area beginning in October 2009. Times and locations are flexible.
