Course: The start and finish line is on Ohio Drive between Independence Avenue and West Basin Drive in West Potomac Park. The course will follow south along Ohio Drive, cross the inlet bridge to a turn around mid-way down Hains Point.
Course Safety: A first aid tent staffed by registered nurses will be available at the Start/Finish line. Police and race officials will be along the course to ensure trotter safety. Bicycles, skateboards, and roller blades will not be permitted along the course. Dogs on leashes, baby joggers and strollers will be permitted; however, they must remain on the right side of the course throughout.
Line-up: Runners and walkers will begin at the same time; however, there will be designated start areas for each group. All runners will line up in the front section of the starting line at 8:20 am. Walkers and trotters with dogs or strollers will begin in the back and must remain on the right side of the course. If you would like to wear a race number, but you are not running the 5K, you can pick up an extra number at the check-in area that morning. The race will begin at 8:30 am.
