Joseph Smith House
Joseph Smith House began providing 10 single adults with affordable housing in 2005 following the Oxford House model. Residents pay rent and utilities as well as live by house rules created by the group. House officers are elected and residents share chores, as well as monitor and encourage sobriety. SOME named the facility after Joseph Smith who worked with SOME for more than 10 years. He was instrumental in our Southeast Washington community organizing activites and running the SOME Southeast Center Food Club. His wife remains a member of the SOME Board of Directors.
