SOME's affordable housing programs for single adults offer a balance of independence and structure for residents like James.

Program Highlights

Anna Cooper House, Chabraja House, Freedom House, Jeremiah House and Shalom House provided safe, diginified housing to over 518 formerly homeless and extremely low-income single men and women in 2012. Ninety-four percent of residents maintained their health, sobriety and income.

SOME has been providing supportive-service affordable housing programs for homeless and extremely low-income single adults since 1989. Today, we own and manage safe, substance-free affordable housing for nearly 500 single adults.

Adults living at Anna Cooper House, Bedford Falls, Chabraja House, Freedom House, Gasner House, Griffin House, Jeremiah House and Shalom House pay 30% of their income as rent, participate in regular house meetings and maintain their health and sobriety.

SOME also provides affordable housing in the Oxford House model at Joseph Smith House and Fr. Horace McKenna House. In addition, SOME offers safe, dignified housing to four men at Providence House.
