SOME Named a Washington Post Top Workplace
June 17, 2016
SOME is honored to be a Washington Post Top Workplace for a second consecutive year. SOME was awarded a Top Workplaces designation based on feedback collected from staff through an anonymous survey.
SOME scored above the benchmark for Human and Social Services Workplaces on all survey questions. Among the statements that staff respondents agreed with most strongly were: “SOME operates by strong values and ethics” and “I believe SOME is going in the right direction.”
Kelly Clark, Program Manager at SOME’s Anna Cooper House, shared why she likes working at SOME. “I feel that my thoughts, ideas and concerns are heard and taken seriously. I like that I can feel confident about the fact that I work with an awesome group of people — not just within my specific program, but overall at the agency — who are just as committed to top-of-the-line service as I am.”
Kelly explained that she is drawn to her work at SOME because she wants to help others flourish and improve their lives. “Many of our residents, they may have had very little to no positive interaction with other individuals,” she says. “I feel honored that I get to play a role in speaking life, hope and encouragement into our residents’ lives on a daily basis.”
